Amazon ElastiCache is a fully managed, Valkey-, Memcached- and Redis- compatible service that delivers real-time, cost-optimized performance for modern applications. ElastiCache speeds up database and application performance, scaling to hundreds of millions of operations per second with microsecond response time. ElastiCache offers enhanced security, reliability, scalability, and performance when compared to open source alternatives. 

You can quickly get started with ElastiCache by using our serverless option, which removes the need to plan for, provision, and manage cache cluster capacity. ElastiCache Serverless scales instantly to accommodate your workload as its memory, compute, and network throughput requirements change. With ElastiCache Serverless, you pay for data stored in GB-hours and the compute used by your application workload in ElastiCache Processing Units (ECPUs). 

Amazon ElastiCache for Valkey starts as low as $6/month on Serverless, offers 33% lower price on ElastiCache Serverless and 20% lower price on ElastiCache node-based and than other supported engines. 

You can also design an ElastiCache cluster by selecting the ElastiCache node type and number of nodes. When doing so, you are charged hourly per node. ElastiCache supports both on-demand nodes, which require no commitment, and reserved nodes, which provide discounts for customers who commit to either one-year or three-year terms. Key Terms

Data Stored: You pay for data stored in ElastiCache Serverless billed in gigabyte-hours (GB-hrs). ElastiCache Serverless continuously monitors the data stored in your cache, sampling multiple times per minute, and calculates an hourly average to determine the cache’s data storage usage in GB-hrs. Each ElastiCache Serverless cache is metered for a minimum of 1 GB of data stored.

ElastiCache Processing Units (ECPUs): You pay for ElastiCache Serverless requests in ElastiCache Processing Units (ECPUs), a unit that includes both vCPU time and data transferred. Simple reads and writes require 1 ECPU for each kilobyte (KB) of data transferred. For example, a GET command that transfers 3.2 KB of data will consume 3.2 ECPUs. Commands that require additional vCPU time or transfer more than 1 KB of data will consume proportionally more ECPUs. 

Minimum metered Data Storage:  100 MB per cache for ElastiCache Serverless for Valkey and 1 GB per cache for ElastiCache for Memcached and ElastiCache for Redis OSS.

On-Demand Cache Nodes let you pay for cache capacity by the hour your Cache Node runs with no long-term commitments. This frees you from the costs and complexities of planning, purchasing, and maintaining hardware and transforms what are commonly large fixed costs into much smaller variable costs.

Pricing is per Cache Node-hour consumed, from the time a Cache Node is launched until it is terminated. Each partial Cache Node-hour consumed will be billed as a full hour.

With Reserved Nodes, you can choose to make a one-time up-front payment, no upfront payment and pay low hourly charges, or one-time upfront payment with lower hourly charges for each node you wish to reserve for a 1- or 3-year term. In return, you receive a significant discount off the ongoing hourly usage rate for the node(s) you reserve. Amazon ElastiCache provides Standard and Heavy Utilization Reserved Nodes for its current cache node families.

• Standard Reserve Nodes are available on R6G, M6G, T4G, R5, and T3 nodes.
• Heavy Utilization Reserved Nodes are available on T2, up to M4 and R4 nodes.
  

This is the storage associated with the automated and user-initiated snapshots you have taken. Amazon ElastiCache Backup storage is ¥0.53/GB every month (same price in all China regions). Data transfer for using the snapshots is free of charge.

Global Datastore in Amazon ElastiCache for Redis enables fully managed, fast, reliable and secure cross-region replication. Cross region data transfer traffic is secured using encryption in-transit. The following charges apply for outgoing traffic from the primary (or source) region. Global Datastore is available with M5 and R5 nodes which are not eligible for Amazon Web Services Free Tier.
