With Amazon Fargate, there are no upfront payments and you only pay for the resources that you use. You pay for the amount of vCPU, memory, and storage resources consumed by your containerized applications running on Amazon Elastic Container Service (ECS) or Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS).
Amazon Fargate Pricing for Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS
For both Amazon ECS and Amazon EKS, Amazon Fargate pricing is calculated based on the vCPU, memory, storage, and Operating System1 resources used from the time you start to download your container image (docker pull) until the Amazon ECS Task* or Amazon EKS Pod terminates, rounded up to the nearest second. A minimum charge of 1 minute applies.
* A Task is a collection of containers that runs together as an application.
1 Windows Operating System is currently only available for Amazon ECS.
Pricing Details
Pricing is based on requested vCPU, Operating Systems, storage and memory resources1 for the Task or Pod. The four dimensions are independently configurable. 20 GB of ephemeral storage is available for all Fargate Tasks and Pods by default—you only pay for any additional storage that you configure.
1Windows Operating System is currently only available for Amazon ECS.
