We are excited to announce that Amazon EC2 Spot instances, low cost EC2 instances, are now available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet.
Amazon EC2 Spot instances are ideal to power CI/CD environments, traffic generators, host web servers & microservices, render movies and to run many types of analytics jobs, all at prices that offer significant savings in comparison to On-Demand instances. Since Spot instances are often available at up-to 90% off of On-Demand prices, you can significantly reduce the cost of running your applications, grow your application’s compute capacity and throughput for the same budget, and enable new types of cloud computing applications.
Amazon EC2 Spot instances allow you to request spare Amazon EC2 computing capacity. Like On-Demand instances, you can select a pre-configured or custom Amazon Machine Image (AMI), configure security and network access to your Spot instance, choose from multiple instance types and locations, use static IP endpoints, and attach persistent block storage to your Spot instances. Similarly, you pay for each instance by the hour with no up-front commitments.
