Amazon Web Services is announcing a configurable private ASN for its Direct Connect (DX) to enhance use of their Virtual Private Cloud. Users can now select a Private Autonomous System Number (or use the private ASN value provided) for the Amazon Web Services half of the external BGP session using DX private Virtual Interface. Also, they can now view the Amazon Web Services Console side ASN in the console or via APIs without downloading the router configuration details.
This feature is available for use in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet.
