Amazon Database Migration Service (DMS) and Amazon Web Services Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) are now available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) region, operated by NWCD.
Amazon Database Migration Service helps you migrate databases to Amazon Web Services quickly and securely. The source database remains fully operational during the migration, minimizing downtime to applications that rely on the database. The Amazon Database Migration Service can migrate your data to and from most widely used commercial and open-source databases.
The Amazon Web Services Schema Conversion Tool makes heterogeneous database migrations easy by automatically converting the source database schema and a majority of the custom code to a format compatible with the target database. The custom code includes views, stored procedures, and functions. Any code that the tool cannot convert automatically is clearly marked so that you can convert it yourself. The Amazon Web Services Schema Conversion Tool supports the most widely used relational databases and data warehouses.
Both services support homogenous migrations such as Oracle to Oracle, as well as heterogeneous migrations between different database platforms, such as Oracle to Amazon Aurora or Teradata to Amazon Redshift. It also allows you to stream data to Redshift, Amazon DynamoDB, and Amazon S3 from any of the supported sources.
Amazon Database Migration Service is also available in the US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Oregon), US West (N. California), Canada (Central), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), EU (Frankfurt), EU (Ireland), EU (London), and South America (São Paulo) Regions.
