Customers can now configure Amazon API Gateway to send API access logs to Amazon Kinesis Data Firehose. It's easy to configure Kinesis Data Firehose as a log destination by enabling access logging on an API and specifying the Firehose stream.
Choosing Kinesis Data Firehose as a destination for access logs allows customers to analyze API access patterns in real time and quickly troubleshoot issues using Amazon services like Amazon S3, Amazon Redshift, Amazon Elasticsearch Service, or using 3rd-party tools like Splunk. For example, using Kinesis Data Firehose integration with S3 allows customers to create Amazon Quicksight dashboards to visualize live API log data. Customers can also use Splunk's integration with Kinesis Data Firehose to continuously monitor, diagnose, and resolve issues.
API Gateway’s support for Kinesis Data Firehose access logging is generally available in all regions where Kinesis Data Firehose is available, including Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) region, operated by NWCD.
