You can now use launch templates with Amazon EC2 Auto Scaling groups and Amazon EC2 Spot Fleets in your Amazon CloudFormation templates. Launch templates are a new capability for templatizing your EC2 instance launch requests.
Launch templates simplify launch management and give you access to the latest EC2 features in your Auto Scaling groups. Launch templates enable you to centrally make changes to launch parameters and control the roll out of those changes to Auto Scaling groups and Spot Fleet.
