You can now access Amazon S3 objects using the IPv6 protocol via the S3 dual-stack endpoint in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and in Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. S3’s dual-stack endpoint supports both IPv4 and IPv6 protocols and allows your applications to continue to access data without any code changes while leveraging the benefits of IPv6 protocols.
IPv6 protocol support for Amazon S3 helps you meet IPv6 compliance requirements by easily integrating with existing IPv6-based on-premises applications and removing the need for expensive networking equipment to handle the address translations between IPv4 and IPv6. Applications can continue to access data through the existing APIs and virtual-hosted style (example: http://bucket.s3.dualstack.aws-region.amazonaws.com.cn/) or path style (example: http://s3.dualstack.aws-region.amazonaws.com.cn/) URLs. You can also utilize the existing source address filtering feature in IAM policies and bucket policies with IPv6 addresses, expanding your options to secure applications interacting with Amazon S3. There is no additional charge to use IPv6 in S3.
IPv6 support is available for all S3 features available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD with the exception of Website Hosting and access via BitTorrent.
