Session Manager, a capability of Amazon Systems Manager, now enables you to customize the shell environment by specifying the commands to run at the start of a session. Using this feature, you can tailor the shell experience to the needs of your users or your organization, by adding customizations such as changing the default shell interpreter, displaying the hostname, or configuring command shortcuts.
Configurable shell profiles are available for both Linux and Windows hosts. To get started, in the Session Manager console, in the navigation pane, choose Preferences and then add your custom commands in the Shell Profile section for Linux and Windows. You can also configure shell profiles in the shellProfile section of Session Documents.
Session Manager is available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
