Starting today, you can use Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) Quick Create from the Amazon EC2 Launch Instance Wizard to create new file systems using the recommended settings without having to leave the Amazon EC2 console. You can then immediately add your newly created file system to the EC2 instance you are launching and it will be automatically mounted on your instance after it has launched.
Amazon EFS provides a simple, scalable, cloud native, fully managed elastic NFS file system for use with Amazon Cloud services and on-premises resources. It is built to scale on demand to petabytes without disrupting applications, growing and shrinking automatically as you add and remove files, eliminating the need to provision and manage capacity to accommodate growth. Amazon EFS is designed to provide massively parallel shared access to thousands of Amazon EC2 instances, enabling your applications to achieve high levels of aggregate throughput and IOPS with consistent low latencies.
Amazon EFS Quick Create for the Amazon EC2 Launch Instance Wizard is available at no additional charge in all Amazon Web Services Regions, including Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. To get started, open the EC2 Launch Instance Wizard and click on “Create new file system” in Step 3: Configure Instance Details. To learn more, see the EC2 Launch Instance Wizard documentation and the Amazon EFS documentation.
