You can now manage non-IP based cloud resources in Amazon Cloud Map’s public and private DNS namespaces in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and in Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. Amazon Cloud Map is a cloud resource discovery service. Using Amazon Cloud Map, you can define custom names for your application resources, such as Amazon ECS tasks, Amazon EC2 instances, Amazon S3 buckets, Amazon DynamoDB tables, or any other cloud resource. Your application can then discover the location and metadata of cloud resources associated with these custom names via Amazon SDK or by making authenticated API calls.
Now you can use a single Cloud Map namespace with DNS resolution to register all your application components, including IP-based resources such as ECS tasks and EC2 instances, and non-IP based resources such as S3 buckets and DynamoDB tables. You can use Cloud Map’s discovery API to discover both IP and non-IP based resources in your namespace, and rely on DNS for discovery of IP-based resources. It simplifies the management of your cloud resources and enables consistent service discovery.
