Today, we are excited to announce the general availability (GA) of Amazon GameLift, now available in Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. Trusted by successful game companies in the world like Wargaming, Behaviour Interactive, and Ubisoft, GameLift deploys, operates, and scales dedicated servers for multiplayer games. Now, GameLift and its full suite of features has increased its coverage further, while providing seamless, low-latency gameplay experiences for players.
In multiplayer games, players expect low wait times into matches along with smooth gameplay experiences, no matter where they are playing. To achieve a seamless player experience in your game, players need to be placed to the closest region in which they are playing. Previously, GameLift was only available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet. With this update, we’re expanding our availability reach, helping game developers operating in China give players even more reliable experiences across China. By leveraging the power of Amazon Web Services, GameLift delivers an optimal latency, low player wait times, and cost savings, and this update will:
- Deliver low player latency from increased coverage. Now available Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD, GameLift covers 22 public Regions enabling you to place players closest to where they are playing to ensure a smooth experience.
- Tap into GameLift’s suite of services. Whether you want to create a 200+ player game with Large Match Support, automatically adapt server capacity with player traffic using Autoscaling, place players into high-quality matches with FlexMatch using your own flexible rules, or use FleetIQ algorithms to optimize the lower cost possible, GameLift has you covered.
