Following the announcement of updates to the PostgreSQL database, we have added support in Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for PostgreSQL minor versions 13.4, 12.8, 11.13, 10.18, and 9.6.23. This release closes security vulnerabilities in PostgreSQL and contains bug fixes and improvements done by the PostgreSQL community.
This release also adds support for PostGIS 3.1 and updates the pglogical extension. PostGIS allows you to store, query and analyze geospatial data within a PostgreSQL database. pglogical replication provides fine-grained control over replicating and synchronizing parts of a database. For example, you can use logical replication to replicate an individual table of a database. Please see the list of supported extensions in the Amazon RDS User Guide for specific versions.
Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL makes it easy to set up, operate, and scale PostgreSQL deployments in the cloud. Learn more about upgrading your database instances from the Amazon RDS User Guide. See Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL Pricing for pricing details.
