Starting today, the latest generation of burstable, general purpose Amazon EC2 T4g instances are now available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. These instances are powered by Arm-based Amazon Graviton2 processors and deliver up to 40% better price performance over T3 instances. The T4g instances provide a baseline level of CPU performance with the ability to burst CPU usage at any time for as long as required. They offer a balance of compute, memory, and network resources for a broad spectrum of general-purpose workloads, including large scale micro-services, caching servers, search engine indexing, e-commerce platforms, small and medium databases, virtual desktops, and business-critical applications.

Amazon Graviton2 processors are custom-built by Amazon Web Services using 64-bit Arm Neoverse N1 cores to enable the best price performance for cloud workloads running in Amazon EC2. They deliver a major leap in performance and capabilities over first-generation Amazon Graviton processors, with 7x performance, 4x the number of compute cores, 2x larger caches, and 5x faster memory. Amazon Graviton2 processors feature always-on 256-bit DRAM encryption and 50% faster per core encryption performance compared to the first-generation Amazon Graviton processors.

Amazon EC2 T4g instances are built on the Amazon Nitro System, a collection of Amazon Web Services-designed hardware and software innovations that enable the delivery of efficient, flexible, and secure cloud services with isolated multi-tenancy, private networking, and fast local storage.

The T4g instances are supported by a broad ecosystem of operating systems and services from Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) as well as Amazon Web Services. These include popular Linux distributions (Amazon Linux 2, Ubuntu, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, Fedora, and Debian), FreeBSD/NetBSD, the Amazon Corretto distribution of OpenJDK, container services (Amazon ECR, Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, Docker, and Rancher), agents (Amazon CloudWatch, Amazon Systems Manager, Amazon Inspector, Crowdstrike, Datadog, Dynatrace, Honeycomb.io, New Relic, Qualys, Rapid7, and Tenable), and developer/automation tools (Amazon Web Services Code Suite, Chef, GitLab, Jenkins, and TravisCI).

With this regional expansion, the T4g instances are now available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, the Amazon Web Services China(Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD, US East (N. Virginia and Ohio), US West (Oregon, San Francisco), Canada (Central), South America (Sao Paulo), Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Tokyo, Singapore, Sydney, Seoul, Hong Kong), and Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Stockholm) regions. They are available in 7 sizes, providing up to 8 vCPUs, 5 Gbps of networking bandwidth, and 2,780 Mbps of Elastic Block Store (EBS) bandwidth. The T4g instances are purchasable On-Demand, as Reserved instances, or as Spot instances.
