Amazon IoT Analytics now supports JOIN operation on Amazon IoT Analytics data stores, enabling customers to combine data from two or more Amazon IoT Analytics data stores based on a common attribute between them. Customers can now create an Amazon IoT SiteWise data backed Amazon IoT Analytics data store and join it with other S3 backed Amazon IoT Analytics data stores to discover insights about their industrial assets such as viewing properties and relationships between various Amazon IoT SiteWise assets, run statistical queries on Amazon IoT SiteWise and S3 data, and perform advanced analytics. You can use this feature to create an Amazon IoT Analytics SQL query data set that uses a join operation (inner join, left, right and full outer join, self join and cross join ) to combine two or more customer managed Amazon IoT Analytics data stores and Amazon IoT SiteWise managed data stores on a join condition using attribute names that exist in both data stores.
To get started, use the Amazon IoT Analytics console to create a data set, select the data stores you want to combine data from and use the JOIN operator while authoring your SQL query. For more information on how to get started, see the JOIN page in the Amazon IoT Analytics user guide.
Amazon IoT Analytics is a fully managed service that makes it easy to collect, pre-process, enrich, store and analyze IoT data at scale by running and operationalizing sophisticated analytics on massive volumes of IoT data without having to worry about the complexity typically required to build an analytics platform.
