Starting today, Amazon Aurora MySQL-Compatible Edition 2 (with MySQL 5.7 compatibility) will support MySQL 5.7.40. In addition to several security enhancements and bug fixes, this release is fully compatible with MySQL 5.7.40. Previous Aurora MySQL 2.x versions were compatible with MySQL 5.7.12. To upgrade to Aurora MySQL 2.12, you can initiate a minor version upgrade manually by modifying your DB cluster, or you can enable the “Auto minor version upgrade” option when creating or modifying a DB cluster. For more details, see Automatic Minor Version Upgrades for MySQL. This release is available in all Amazon Web Services regions with Aurora MySQL, including Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
