Today, we are excited to announce the ability to roll back an Auto Scaling instance refresh. EC2 Auto Scaling’s instance refresh feature allows you to replace instances in an Auto Scaling group on a rolling basis. With today’s launch you can use a rollback to undo changes an instance refresh made when it fails.
When you enable automatic rollbacks, you no longer need to manually monitor the instance refresh for success. Alternatively, you can manually start a rollback whenever you need to stop the refresh and revert to the configuration used before starting the refresh.
Instance refresh rollback is now available in all the Amazon Web Service regions, including the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. This feature is available through the Amazon Web Services Management Console, the SDKs, and the Command Line Interface.
