Amazon Elastic File System (Amazon EFS) now supports a 1-day Lifecycle Management Policy that allows you to automatically move files that haven’t been accessed in 1 day to the Amazon EFS Infrequent Access (EFS IA) storage class. You can configure this new policy option for your file system, or you can use one of the existing policy options: 7, 14, 30, 60, or 90 days.
Amazon EFS Lifecycle Management enables you to automatically move data stored on the Standard storage class that hasn’t been accessed recently to the cheaper, colder IA storage class, helping you save on storage costs. Applications that ingest and analyze large amounts of data on a daily basis, and then retain the data long-term, can benefit from a 1-day Lifecycle Management policy.
This new option for EFS Lifecycle Management is available for all file systems in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. To learn more, see the Amazon EFS documentation and create a file system using the Amazon EFS Console.
