Amazon OpenSearch Service now supports setting ‘skip unavailable’ for cross cluster search connections. Cross-cluster search enables you to perform searches and aggregations across multiple domains with a single query or from a single OpenSearch Dashboard interface.
If skip unavailable is enabled on connections, cross-cluster search ignores the remote cluster which may not be available during the search. Skip unavailable also ignores errors like unavailable shards or indices on the remote cluster.
You can enable the setting while creating a new outbound connection via the management console, command line interface (CLI), or the software development kit (SDK). Please refer to documentation for more details.
Cross-Cluster Search is now available in the Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and the Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD.
