Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for PostgreSQL now supports the tcn extension which provides a trigger function that allows you to asynchronously notify listeners of changes to a table.
PostgreSQL extensions are libraries that supply extra functions, operators, or data types to the core database engine. tcn, or triggered change notification, is a function that generates NOTIFY events on changes to data in specified tables. This is useful for applications that need to take action on data changes in near-real time such as updating displays of information or cached data. Please see the list of supported extensions in the Amazon RDS User Guide for specific versions.
Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL makes it simple to set up, operate, and scale PostgreSQL deployments in the cloud. Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL is available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. See Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL Pricing for pricing details and regional availability. Create or update a fully managed Amazon RDS database in the Amazon RDS Management Console.
