Amazon Kinesis Data Streams On-Demand Mode now supports write throughput limit of 10GB/s, a 5x increase from the current limit of 2 GB/s. Amazon Kinesis Data Streams is a serverless streaming data service that makes it easier to capture, process, and store streaming data at any scale. On-Demand is a capacity mode for Kinesis Data Streams that automatically scales resources to meet your throughput requirements. This eliminates the need to provision and manage scaling, allowing you to focus on your application while paying only for the throughput you consume.
You can now request a limit increase through Amazon Web Services Support to enable your On-Demand stream to scale up to 10GB/s write and 20GB/s read throughput. This allows you to leverage the benefits of On-Demand mode, like automatic scaling and pay-as-you-go pricing, for your highest-volume streaming data applications.
The increased limit is available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. Submit a support ticket to request the limit increase for your account. See the Amazon Kinesis Data Streams Quotas and Limits page to learn more.
