Amazon Lambda functions powered by Amazon Graviton2 processors are now available in Amazon Web Services (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD. Using an Arm-based processor architecture designed by Amazon, Lambda functions running on Amazon Graviton2 deliver up to 19 percent better performance at 20 percent lower cost for a variety of Serverless workloads, such as web and mobile backends, data and media processing. With lower latency and better performance, these functions are ideal for mission critical Serverless applications.
Customers can configure existing x86-based functions to target the Amazon Graviton2 processor or create new functions powered by Amazon Graviton2 using the Amazon Web Services Console, Amazon CLI, Amazon SAM, or Amazon SDK for Lambda. Amazon Lambda Layers will also support targeting x86-based or Arm-based functions packaged as either zip files or container images.
