Amazon SageMaker Feature Store now supports the ability to provision read and write capacities for the online store. This capability is an alternative to on-demand billing mode and is designed to make it more cost-effective and provide more controls for workloads with predictable throughput requirements.
With this launch, you can specify the desired write and read capacities for a feature group when you create it. You can also change capacity limits at any time, for example to lower limits overnight or on weekends, in order to manage costs. You also have the option to switch between provisioned mode and on-demand mode at the feature group level, to accommodate shifts in application traffic patterns. Setting billing mode can be done through the UI or programmatically via APIs and the SDK.
This capability is available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) region, operated by Sinnet, and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) region, operated by NWCD. To learn more, please view the documentation here. To get started, go to SageMaker Studio from Amazon SageMaker Console.
