Amazon CloudWatch announces a comprehensive set of enhancements to the alarm and dashboard experience. It introduces out-of-the-box, best practice alarm recommendations for 23 Amazon Web Services services, streamlining your monitoring setup. You can easily view all metrics with recommended alarms using a convenient toggle. Creating alarms is simpler with pre-filled configuration in the alarm wizard or bulk downloading infrastructure-as-code templates for the recommended alarms.
You can now plot side-by-side graphs with different time ranges for effective metric comparisons. Gauge widgets with color-coded thresholds provide quick insights into metric performance relative to your KPIs. You can add additional information to an alarm such as tags, as well as text and images in markdown language. Transparent text widgets enable you to clearly define sections in dashboards using headings.
Furthermore, CloudWatch has enhanced alarms with correlated data links for efficient drill-downs into related logs, Synthetics canaries, and Amazon Web Services services. Collaborate seamlessly by sharing deep links to alarms for focused discussions. User experience is improved with dashboard auto-save when editing; syntax highlighting and code formatting in the source code editor for metric widgets; and an easier way to plot multiple line graphs on the same widget.
These enhancements are now available in Amazon Web Services China (Beijing) Region, operated by Sinnet and Amazon Web Services China (Ningxia) Region, operated by NWCD at no additional charge.
