Q: Can I deploy the Serverless Image Handler in any Amazon Web Services Region?

You can deploy this solution in Amazon Web Services (Ningxia) Region operated by NWCD and Amazon Web Services (Beijing) Region operated by Sinnet. Once deployed, developers in any Amazon Web Services Region can use the Serverless Image Handler to dynamically manipulate images. 

Q: What is required before deploying the Amazon CloudFormation template?

Before you launch the solution’s Amazon CloudFormation template, you must specify an existing Amazon S3 bucket. Use this bucket to store the images you want to manipulate. Note that you can have multiple source buckets for images, but them must resides in the same region where you launch the template. Additionally, you need one or two ICP licensed domain. Besides, upload your SSL certificate to Amazon Identity and Access Management (IAM) if you want to provide HTTPS access to the API endpoints. For more information, see the implementation guide.

Q: What filters or edits for image manipulation are supported by the Serverless Image Handler?

The solution supports the full range of capabilities offered by Sharp, an open source image editing tool that performs modifications in realtime. This solution also includes a selection of legacy Thumbor image filters for users upgrading from a previous version of this solution. For more information, see the implementation guide.

Q: I used the image processing function of Alibaba Cloud OSS before, can I migrate to this solution?

Yes. In addition to its own API interfaces, the solution also provides an API interface compatible with OSS image processing function. For more information, please refer to the OSS API Adapter chapter in the implementation guide.
